Rescue Me ID: 14-07-24-00648Charmin (female)

Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Charmin is a sweet dog but needs to be the only dog. She is well trained comes when called can do all the basic commands and seems to be a very smart dog. Loves to go for walks and runs. She enjoys playing with basketballs. She is a very easy dog and loves attention but will settle down very quickly. She just likes to be around her owner. She has her own dog bed and loves it usually sleeps on her back with all fours up in the air. So cute! Charmin is a very low maintenance dog. We are her original owners and have loved her for seven great years. We also have another golden that we have had for a little longer than Charmin and recently ... (Read More)Charmin has become more aggressive towards the other dog. They have been together since they were puppies so it is very sad to have to re-home one of them. Charmin is micro-chipped and healthy and she is well behaved when taken to the groomer or on walks. As long as there is no interaction with other dogs. This breaks my heart to have to do this but I need to keep both dogs safe. If your looking for a great companion/friend Charmin would be perfect for you. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-30-00617Kayla (female)

Golden Retriever    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sweet, very submissive dog, though she is dominant over our male and can be slightly aggressive until she establishes dominance. She has had three surgeries to remove (benign) tumors: One from the right side of her lower jaw resulting in loss of several teeth and some bone. Second from front, right foot resulting in the loss of two toes. Third, recently, near her anus . None have given her difficulties at all. She has diabetes insidious, in remission, but does require daily meds costing about $150 per month. She has a great relationship with our male Golden and it would be great to keep them together if possible.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Golden Retriever in Washington
Golden Retriever Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. The Golden Retriever is a gundog that loves the water. Originally bred for hunting, Goldens make wonderful family pets. Golden Retrievers are very sweet, patient, gentle, and excellent with children. Goldens are eager to please and respond very well to obedience training. Goldens make good watchdogs but are far too friendly with everyone, from strangers to other dogs, to be used as guard dogs. Goldens need human companionship. They can get into trouble if neglected. This breed is suitable for homes with yards, and needs plenty of brisk daily exercise.
