Rescue Me ID: 14-08-19-00598Buster Brown (male)
Buster Brown was found wandering the streets, though it was obvious that he was once someone's pet. After two weeks of endless searching, no owner was found and he has now come into our rescue. He is about 1 year old and is such a friendly guy. He is on the the thin side right now and currently weighs around 45 lbs. He is gaining more and more weight daily, as he recovers, and will most likely weight around 50-55 lbs. when he thickens back up. He loves everyone and is a very happy go lucky fellow. He is great on leash, knows 'sit' and 'catch' and loves going for walks. Buster has been fine with all dogs so far, but is much too interested in cats. He is currently being kenneled, as no foster home has opened up for him, so some house work may need to be done. It is obvious though that he was once an indoor pet, so that is probably minimal. He runs for the door and wants in as soon as he gets a chance. He has been neutered and will be going for his shots, check up, and microchip within the next week. He will be ready for adoption on 8/27 and we're hoping to find him a great home for him to go to as soon as he is ready. There will be a $125 adoption fee, application, and contract. Please email if you are interested in Buster Brown! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-13-00165Lucky (male)
He is an 8 month old puppy that I adopted, but I was told he was a Retriever mix and only going to be 40-45lbs and my vet says more like 70-75lbs. I live in an apartment and he does not have enough room to run and play like he likes to do and it's not fare to him for me to try and keep him. I have had him since he was 8 weeks old. He needs to be neutered and maybe some training other than that he is up to date on his shots. He will make a great dog with room to run and play and some training.

Animal ID: A23079648Abby (female)
Abby is a 7 year old mama bear with the biggest heart. She was surrendered to the shelter with her three year old son. He has since been adopted, and poor Abby is still waiting for her forever family to notice her. She is a low energy girl that really prefers to just lay right at your feet. She would make a wonderful family dog. She walks well on a leash and is housebroken! Won't you bring pretty Abby into your home?!

Golden Retriever Dogs can make good pets in Virginia if they match your IifestyIe. The Golden Retriever is a gundog that loves the water. Originally bred for hunting, Goldens make wonderful family pets. Golden Retrievers are very sweet, patient, gentle, and excellent with children. Goldens are eager to please and respond very well to obedience training. Goldens make good watchdogs but are far too friendly with everyone, from strangers to other dogs, to be used as guard dogs. Goldens need human companionship. They can get into trouble if neglected. This breed is suitable for homes with yards, and needs plenty of brisk daily exercise.
