Marco is a quiet, nice boy that is glad to see you come and speak to him...he is very patient and waits his turn... This poor sweetie is a hidden gem at the shelter! The pic does not do him justice..absolutely NO justice. His coat is the most rich, vibrant coloring I have seen in a long time. Marco is nervous but friendly and leashed right up. He is a bit bigger then his intake picture makes him look, but very gentle and calm. He is shy and takes a bit to warm up but gave me many tail wags and a small lick on the hand. He is an amazing boy and needs out of here asap! Come meet Marco and help him get a new lease on life .

Hi, I'm Charlie and new to this rescue! I'm happy to be here, phew was stuck in a very small shelter with not much hope until this plane swooped down and brought me here! Both those places were scary but now I'm happy running around and not so shy anymore either-I knew it was all that place! I am very submissive, friendly and will make an excellent family dog/companion! Looking for my finally furever home-is that you? Can't wait. Toodles, Charlie

I'm looking for a good home for this brother and sister, Jake & cinnamon. They've been together their whole life so I'm hoping they can go to the same home or I think they would be lost without each other because they are best friends. They are the sweetest dogs but both are very nervous around children. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Jake is a golden retriever mix and cinnamon is a Pomeranian

Rescue Me ID: 17-07-29-00262Rusty (male)
This young Golden Retriever/Boxer/Staffordshire Terrier/Lab/mix boy is sweet and playful. Rusty is one sweet little toot and available for adoption through pops legacy. He looks about seven months old but his teeth say he is about a-year-old. He is a very smart dog and learns quickly. I have already taught him how to sit and lay down. He loves to be around people but he takes time to get used to other dogs. He has been fine with the cats. I just sent his DNA off so if you would like to guess his breed or breeds, give me your thought.

This is Charlie, he will be 3 September 9th. He's a super sweet boy, who we rescued when he was 12 weeks old. He LOVES the outdoors and his walks. I was in a car accident last year and just not able to keep up with him anymore. I want him to have a good home where he can run and play maybe go camping etc.

Animal ID: A330744Boy (male)
Boy is a 3 year old Golden Retriever Mix that is a friendly dog and enjoys being with his human. He does need time to adjust to a new home and will need lots of exercise and training reinforcement during his first two weeks in his new home. This is most important as if he does not get that, Boy can exhibit separation anxiety due to boredom. In his case that results in him chewing on his crate (as evident by a couple worn down teeth :/ ). His rescue has worked hard with him on this behavior and has found that exercise and training (keeping him busy) is key. We believe some of Boy's behavior might be attributed to him being an outside dog in the first part of his life. Although we cannot be sure, as he was picked up as a stray by animal control, he was covered in fleas and ticks, suggesting an outside life (and a not so good one at that). He also initially exhibited some fear going in and out of doorways - something he now has conquered and has no issue with. Thanks to good foster homes, Boy now lives comfortably indoors and is both house and crate trained. He rides well in the car, is excellent on leash and is a good boy at the vet's office. He does still enjoy the yard though and is happy sunbathing the day away :) Boy would do best with an active family, and probably as the only dog. Overall he does well with other dogs and can be playful, but sometimes, when overly excited or stressed, he can be snippy with them. He also seems to bond very tightly with his human, therefore sometimes causing jealous reactions with other dogs if they try and steal that away. He is fine with cats and loves to stare at squirrels, but is not a chaser. (Less)

Animal ID: trpa-MargieNUGGET (male)
Nugget is a 2 year old Chow/Golden Retriever mix. He is neutered, microchipped, with an updated rabies vaccination, parvo distemper vaccination and bordetella vaccination. Nugget has tested heartworn negative. He weighs 48 pounds. Nugget is fostered in a private home with children and other dogs. Nugget would do best with older children. Nugget is an active, playful dog that will need attention, training and room to play outside. Nugget enjoys the company of a playful dog and/or an active person or family. He plays in the water, loves fetch and chase and he would make a great hiking companion. He pulls some when he is walked. Nugget likes rope toys and kongs. Apartment living is NOT recommended. Nugget has been bathed and groomed with no issues. His long silky hair is more like a goldens than a chows. (Less)

Animal ID: WinnieWinnie (female)
DOB: 5.14.16 Winnie was found on the streets of South Union, Houston, TX. She is just a puppy and she was trying to fend for herself and survive on the streets. She was scrounging for food and trying to find a safe place to rest. She is a sweet girl with a lot of energy to run and play. She is good with cats although she does like to chase them but will not hurt them. She is good with children. She loves to hang out with her human and show them with kisses and love. Winnie does well with dogs smaller than her but not too well with dogs bigger than her. She does have some resource guarding when it comes to food. For these reasons, Winnie would do best in a home with no other dogs Winnie is potty trained, crate trained, good on a leash and is fully vetted. If you are interested in Winnie, please contact us at PetRescueTeam.firstname.lastname@example.org (please make sure to add our email to your contact list so that our reply does not go to spam..) Hi, I'm Slater! Don't you think I'm gorgeous? I had a bit of a rough time living on the streets, and did not like being at the city pound either. I was just not super happy to be there, so my days were numbered. But some volunteers took the time to get to know me a little, and saw my sweet side shining through. Then Red Collar Rescue saved me and got me out of the pound to safety! I'm quite a stunner in the looks department. I'm a good boy, kind of quiet and introspective. I am shy when first meeting people, but when I get to know you and trust you, I will be your best friend for life! Quick moves and lots of activity scare me, so I would probably be best in a home without children. I get along with dogs, and I love my foster K9 siblings. I've become a pretty good snuggler in my foster home too! I'm calm and gentle and a total Prince Charming, just waiting for you! I can't wait to meet my new forever family! Contact email@example.com to get it started. Age: 4 yrs Weight: 49 lbs Dogs? ok Cats? unknown Kids? no Needs Foster? no (Less)

Golden Retriever Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Golden Retriever is a gundog that loves the water. Originally bred for hunting, Goldens make wonderful family pets. Golden Retrievers are very sweet, patient, gentle, and excellent with children. Goldens are eager to please and respond very well to obedience training. Goldens make good watchdogs but are far too friendly with everyone, from strangers to other dogs, to be used as guard dogs. Goldens need human companionship. They can get into trouble if neglected. This breed is suitable for homes with yards, and needs plenty of brisk daily exercise.
