Rescue Me ID: 18-04-26-00132Klaus (male)

Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for ADULT dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Woof from Klaus! I just started my new life and I'm coming out of my shell. I'm a sweet and very smart boy - I was just a little timid when I first got ... (Read More)to my foster home because there are big dogs there. But now I know I can play with them and eat with them. I like the routine at my house and have figured it out quickly and follow along. My favorite time is mealtime - I sit patiently waiting for the prep - although I have to admit I'm somewhat of a picky eater. But when I get hungry I eat!! I haven't had any accidents in the house. I get to go outside regularly so that helps. Even at night I can go 7 hours if I need to without needing to go potty. I don't love my crate because I want to be near other heartbeats, but after 10 minutes in my crate I settle down. It used to take me 30 minutes to stop barking, so I'm figuring out that the crate thing is temporary but I still figure it can't hurt to 'ask' to be let out. Klaus will be ready for adoption after his second shot - around 5/7/18. Klaus is estimated to be born on 1/1/18 and currently weighs 26 pounds. He is a Golden/Shepherd mix and will be a bigger, athletic boy - he's smart and very trainable. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_adoption_process.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. (Less)

My name is Auckland and on a scale of 1 to 10, my floppy ear's cuteness is a definite 10! My foster mom says I love my crate and I have not had any ... (Read More)accidents and I am going potty where I should. I am still a puppy after all so I do need to go out regularly. She is surprised how obedient I am and says I'm a fast learner. I'm pretty chill and love snuggles, and will roll on my back fo r belly rubs any chance I get! I talk a little bit but I'm not much of a barker - that is unless I see my reflection somewhere'| then I must bark at it! My foster mom isn't sure what breed I am but says I must be pretty handsome because my foster dad never takes pictures of anything and he was taking pictures of me already my 1st night home. I have not been out much but I am going to meet other doggies and small kids this weekend, so we'll know how I get along with them very soon! Auckland is a Male Golden Retriever / Shepherd mix that we estimate to be born around 1/1/2018 and already weighs 33 lbs (as of 4/21/18) PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. Animal ID: DHSuzie (tripod) (female)

Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi! My name is Suzie, and I'm just the sweetest, gentlest, most loving and lovable black Labrador/ Golden Retriever mix gal whom you'd ever want to meet. I have the medium-length fur and 'feathers' of a Golden as well as the shiny black coat of a Labrador. I weigh about 55 pounds and was born about March 2015. As Julie Andrews sang, 'These are a few of my favorite things:' car rides, belly rubs, and hugs. I just love people and other dogs. I have an enthusiastic and optimistic spirit even though I've had some hard knocks recently. I'm living proof that even those of rare breeding and profound beauty can end up in deep trouble. First, I got ... (Read More)lost from my home, and then I got hit by a car, and the driver kept going without stopping to check on me. Well, fortunately there are still Good Samaritans out there, and one saw my predicament and whisked me off to the emergency vet, where I received excellent care. However, the accident damaged nerves and left me with a bum right front leg. Even though it eventually had to be amputated, I have no problems getting around, and my sweet spirit is undaunted! My rescuer knew I needed a foster home and brought me to a dog grooming salon where the proprietor has a big heart for stray dogs and has been instrumental in finding great homes for plenty of lost dogs like me in the past. I'm such a lovebug that's it's hard not to fall in love with me. I'm fully crate and house trained, and I walk on a leash fairly well considering I only have 3 legs. I get along great with the other dogs here, and I very well might get along with kids and cats too except I can't find either one at the dog grooming salon. My only 'special need' is to find a gracious and loving new family who will overlook my slight imperfection and see my big heart shining through. I promise I will brighten any household where I call home because, as Shakespeare's young Juliet said, 'My bounty is boundless as the sea, My love as deep; the more I give to thee, The more I have, for both are infinite.' Suzie is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Her adoption fee is $150, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Suzie, and we can arrange for you to meet her. To adopt one of our dogs, you must fill out our adoption application and be approved by one of our adoption counselors. To make the process more efficient, download the adoption application at http://www.bustersfriends.org/dogadoptionapplication.shtml. I guess I'm about 8 years old and looking for a home with humans that will scratch my ... (Read More)head and rub my belly. I am very sweet and love to carry around my tennis ball. I don't mind if you take it from me and throw it so I can retrieve. My foster parents keep asking about my past years. It seems that I h ave had many journeys. My most recent was on a college campus where the kids let me hang out with them and didn't mind sharing their food with me. Although that was fun, I am so happy to be in my foster home where I got a much needed bath, making my fur fluffy and soft again. I enjoy the walks with my foster mom and my 4 legged friend. I am learning that there are rules when you are with a family and not just running free. I am for sure potty trained and will settle down in my kennel after some barking. My foster mom says it's like the rodeo calf scramble sometimes to get me into my kennel but I'm trying to learn and understand what she needs me to do. I will be a great dog in your happy home!!!     Swift was rescued near a park in Tomball. His rescuer was amazed at his great behavior. He stayed outside her home but was joyful and loyal in just a couple of days. At the shelter he loves all the volunteers, and his favorite activity is playing fetch. Wonderful AAR volunteers have taken Swift to A&M Veterinary Hospital for care due to some medical issues. He does require a specialized feeding regimen and regular Vet visits to monitor his heart. Neither of these issues keep Swift from being a happy, playful dog. Now he just wants his very own family. PIease Read Before Adopting a Golden Retriever in Texas
Golden Retriever Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Golden Retriever is a gundog that loves the water. Originally bred for hunting, Goldens make wonderful family pets. Golden Retrievers are very sweet, patient, gentle, and excellent with children. Goldens are eager to please and respond very well to obedience training. Goldens make good watchdogs but are far too friendly with everyone, from strangers to other dogs, to be used as guard dogs. Goldens need human companionship. They can get into trouble if neglected. This breed is suitable for homes with yards, and needs plenty of brisk daily exercise.
