|Rescue Me ID: 18-01-20-00216Grace (female)|
Grace is an 8 year old Golden Retriever/Lab/Boxer mix. She has been with me since she was a puppy. We have lived in two states during that time. She is outside trained, and will scratch at the door, or ring a bell when she needs to go out. She's very laid back and easy going. Grace is great around other dogs, children of all sizes and different kinds of people. Our family is moving this spring/summer and unfortunately, won't have enough time for our pets. It's a very tough decision for us to re-home our dogs. When we moved from North Carolina to Tennessee five years ago, we had to downsize our house, which plays a major role in the amount of space our dogs have and attention they are receiving due to new jobs. Huxley here....don't you love my freckles? OK here's the deal, I was a stray until TVGRR took me in. Thank goodness...hard not having a home. I am between 1 & 2 yrs. old, about 65 lbs. and a Golden Retriever/Great Pyr mix. I had my little boy surgery and all my shots so I am ready to go. I am a very lovable and active boy so I would love an active family. I am working on the basics and getting better on a leash. I am really smart so I learn quickly. I love kids too, but I am young and playful, and I don't want to knock them over or frighten them so so maybe none under 5 would be best. Pretty good with other dogs...a playmate would be great and a fenced yard would be a plus too. As for cats...probably not a good idea. I know I am a diamond in the 'ruff' but I would love to be a part of your home and family so I can shine. (Less)

Golden Retriever Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Golden Retriever is a gundog that loves the water. Originally bred for hunting, Goldens make wonderful family pets. Golden Retrievers are very sweet, patient, gentle, and excellent with children. Goldens are eager to please and respond very well to obedience training. Goldens make good watchdogs but are far too friendly with everyone, from strangers to other dogs, to be used as guard dogs. Goldens need human companionship. They can get into trouble if neglected. This breed is suitable for homes with yards, and needs plenty of brisk daily exercise.
