Rescue Me ID: 17-03-12-00102Cooper (male)
Cooper is a 6 year old hound/retriever mix. He is a super sweet dog that gets along well with dogs, cats, children, and people. My family & I are moving out of state and into an apartment. We cannot take him with us. We want him to find a good, loving home. He loves his buddy Bailey and would love to be placed together if possible.

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-05-00183Jake (male)
JAKE is an 8 year old Retriever/Great Pyr mix male who is bonded with 5 year old Great Pyr mix female Baby Girl. We are seeking a home where they can be adopted and stay together. We feel a home with a fenced yard would be best so that they can safely run and play together when outside. These two dogs ran together for years out in the country in NW TN and both may have been hit by cars in the past. A person concerned for their safety was finally able to get them into rescue and they are now in a foster home. Their foster says they are both very sweet and gentle and obviously look out for each other. They have been around children 8 years and older and have done great. We feel they would also do well with younger kids because of their gentle nature. They live beside a school and calmly watch each day as the children come and go. Jake weighs around 58 pounds but he may gain some weight now that he is getting regular meals. He has been vetted, vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Jake has not had an easy life. He has some scars and had to have some teeth extracted due to some broken and chipped teeth. He tested positive for heartworms and is currently undergoing the treatment needed to rid him of heartworm. He will complete that treatment in March and will be ready for adoption at that time. Jake is on the shy side, but gains confidence daily. He seems to enjoy learning and liked shaking paws with his foster the first day he arrived. He is house trained. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Jake and Baby Girl if it means they will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer rescue to cover at least part of the cost of the veterinary care this dog has received. Fee will be reduced for adopting the bonded pair. (Less)

BABY GIRL is a 5 year old Great Pyr mix female who is bonded with 8 year old Retriever mix male Jake. We are seeking a home where they can be adopted and stay together. We feel they would also do well with younger kids because of their gentle nature. They live beside a school and calmly watch each day as the children come and go. Baby Girl weighs around 63 pounds but she may gain some weight now that she is getting regular meals. She has been vetted, vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. When first rescued, Baby Girl had some broken teeth and favored one leg which may have been an old injury. She had some teeth extracted but has no chewing problems. She moves slowly but gets around well and is able to climb stairs, jump gates if so inclined, and she can also open some doors. She tested positive for heartworms and is currently undergoing the treatment needed to rid her of heartworm. She will complete that treatment in March and will be ready for adoption at that time. She is house trained and will let you know when she needs to go outside. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. Fee will be reduced for adopting the bonded pair. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-05-00121Murphy (male)
Hi, I want to meet you. My name is Murphy and I am a Golden Retriever/Nova Scotia Duck Toller mix; about 2 yrs old and just came to Tennessee. Nice place as far as I can tell but what I am really looking for is a family to call my own. I am what you call a 'free spirit' because everything I see interests me and I want to check it out. OK, that means I am not the best on a leash but with patience and practice I know I could do better. I just want to please you. I would love a yard to play in and maybe another another dog to pal around with; playing is important to me so my buddy will have to be able to do that too. I am a very high active fellow so can we go for hikes and runs maybe? No cats please, I don't care for those furry things at all. Car rides are great, love to feel the wind in my fur. They say I am house trained, whatever that means but I think it is a good thing. Oh yes, I love kids but more in the 8 on up range cause I want to run and play all the time. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-02-27-00205Gracie (female)
Meet sweet Gracie, she's a 1-2 yr old Aussie/golden mix. When she came in she was in such bad shape she couldn't even stand up. She's had a hip injury but it has heeled. She now used that leg, but will hold it up to run. She will probably have arthritis in it as she ages. She was heart worm positive and had a leg injury. With lots of tlc, rest, and heartworm treatment she's now doing great. She's full of energy. She's a vocal player. She had to be on kennel rest but final got the all clear to play and have regular activity. We do separate her to feed her since she was so starved. If you'd like to meet this amazing girl just email us. She's been spayed, utd on vaccinations, been treated for heart worms, and on prevention. You can fill out a free application on her in our website. http://countryroadanimalrescue.webs.com/Applcation and Contract.pdf (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-12-03-00430Frisky (male)
Meet Frisky, he is around 4 years old and 40 to 45 pounds. He is very playful and loves to play with tennis balls. He is a little shy at first but warms up once he knows he can trust you. See Frisky came to us from a family who beat him! So he has to learn he can trust you and then he is your best friend. He is terrified of a leash, act like a unbroken horse. He could use a lot of help with leash. Frisky is good with other dogs. No cats or squirrels!! He is a very loving boy who is looking for a forever home where he knows he will always be loved and safe. We are a shelterless Humane Society. If you are interested in adopting, you can call our hotline, 1-866-304-3352. This is an answering service. Your call will be returned when a volunteer gets your message. This may take up to several hours so please be patient. For a quicker response to your inquiry, email us, firstname.lastname@example.org. This is the direct email address to the Hickman Humane Society adoption coordinator. Microchipping is available for an additional $25.00. (Less)

Golden Retriever Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Golden Retriever is a gundog that loves the water. Originally bred for hunting, Goldens make wonderful family pets. Golden Retrievers are very sweet, patient, gentle, and excellent with children. Goldens are eager to please and respond very well to obedience training. Goldens make good watchdogs but are far too friendly with everyone, from strangers to other dogs, to be used as guard dogs. Goldens need human companionship. They can get into trouble if neglected. This breed is suitable for homes with yards, and needs plenty of brisk daily exercise.
