Rescue Me ID: 16-10-05-00138Serenity (female)

Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

This gorgeous, eye-catching beauty is named Serenity. She is a golden retriever mix, weighing about 40 pounds. She is approximately 2 years old, and we say that 'she never meets a stranger!' So, if you meet her and it feels like the two of you have met before or have known each other for years, that is simply part of her charming personality! She gets along great with other dogs, and, of course, absolutely loves everyone, especially meeting new people! We don't know if she is good with cats or not yet, but we can definitely test her with them to see if she is a cat lover, if need be. Her favorite thing to do is play fetch with the other ... (Read More)dogs... she would seriously do this all day long if she had it her way! Come meet this beautiful girl today and make her dreams of having her own family and yard to play fetch in come true! Serenity is heartworm positive, but RARE will cover the treatment with our veterinarian at no extra cost to the adopter. Heartworms are treatable and dogs can live healthy, fulfilling, and amazing lives after treatment. Please don't let this stop you from giving an animal a good home that it deserves and needs so desperately. We will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. *****AN APPLICATION AND HOME VISIT ARE REQUIRED!***** Please visit for foster and adoption applications or for additional information. All of our pets are or will be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines prior to adoption. Please complete the application on our website and we will call you to answer any questions you may have. Our adoption fees not only help the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need to be made available for adoption. Thank you for choosing to adopt, foster, or aid in the rescue efforts of RARE! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-09-01-00456Girl Doodle (female)

Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Girl Doodle came to us as a stray. She is approximately 2-3 years old. She is very loving, and loves to play. She enjoys outdoors, but really loves to lay inside. She becomes VERY attached to people once she gets to know you, but it will take no time for her. She is ok with cats, but i would only allow if supervised. Also, she is good with most people (except groomers and vets office.) She does good with certain dogs. It will take lots of time for her to get used to other pets. She is a little over bearing at first, but has warmed up to the others here, but i would crate her if you have others when you are not at home. She does NOT ... (Read More)like her collar pulled on by hands. Nor does she like to be pushed. NO kids. She is NOT aggressive, but you will need to take time with her to figure out what she likes and does not like. She LOVES to walk and ride. If you will contact me i can explain what i mean by her aggression. We do not know what she went through in her first 2 years. She is spayed, microchipped, UTD on shots, HW- and on prevention, and currently gets advantix for fleas. (Less)

Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This handsome guy is Jamiy a year half old golden retriever mix around 45 pounds. He was found on the road so bloody and no hair that the man was not even sure it was a dog. The man took him to the vet who said it was mange. He received treatment and you could not tell it today. Jamiy is house broke, walks on leash, and uses doggie door. He is good with other dogs, cats, puppies, and kids but a little shy around them. He really seems to like women. Jamiy loves to play, snuggle and sleep in the bed with you. He is up to date and ready for a forever home. He needs somewhere local as the stress of a transport could bring the mange back.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Golden Retriever in Tennessee
Golden Retriever Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Golden Retriever is a gundog that loves the water. Originally bred for hunting, Goldens make wonderful family pets. Golden Retrievers are very sweet, patient, gentle, and excellent with children. Goldens are eager to please and respond very well to obedience training. Goldens make good watchdogs but are far too friendly with everyone, from strangers to other dogs, to be used as guard dogs. Goldens need human companionship. They can get into trouble if neglected. This breed is suitable for homes with yards, and needs plenty of brisk daily exercise.
