Animal ID: 15-04-14-00022Moe (male)

Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Border Collie Mix & Golden Retriever ~ Adult ~ Male ~ Large~ located at the Carroll County Humane Society McKenzie, TN (West Tn) Moe is a stunningly big dog at 85 pounds who is just a dreamboat. He is a big boy but such a goof who loves everyone and everything. He enjoys walks, play time, snacks, and is just a terrific mellow but still playful guy. We are guessing on his breeding but he has very border collie markings but clearly his size is much larger than a BC and he has a very roman nose profile almost like a Golden and he has the personality of a golden - friendly, affectionate, eager-to-please, and just wonderful. Moe is about 4 ... (Read More)years old and unfortunately, but not surprisingly, tested positive for heartworms. But, we are treating him and all is well with his slow-kill treatment. This is a wonderful big dog who will make a wonderful pet for a lucky family. Moe was surrendered as a stray but he seems to have clearly lived in a home because he won't do his business in his kennel, knows how to use a doggy door and wants an inside home. If you don't have a large sofa, no worries - you can use him! (Less)

Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Fearful/Anxious

Sam has not been socialized outside of her home environment, which makes her unsure/anxious when not at home. She does great with other dogs and even allows the chickens to share food with her. She has not been around female dogs, only male at this time. She lacks confidence outside of her usual routine and will need patience and love. Once she warms up, she is a gorgeous lovebug who will play fetch all day.

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-22-00479Booker (male)

Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This sweet, big puppy needs a good home with a yard to run in. He does jump on people so he is not an appropriate fit for his current home with a 6 year old child. He will probably grow out of this. He has never bitten or growled at anyone. He will have to go to the pound soon so hopefully someone can give him a good home where he can grow and mature.

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-10-00090Selah (female)

Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Young Adult

Hi I'm Selah and I am a curr/retriever mix. I am 2 years old and I weigh about 25 pounds. I am full grown so I will not get any bigger. I was picked up as a stray and taken to a kill shelter. I was so scared that I hid my face in the corner and shook the entire time. Not that my life wasn't scary on the streets but the shelter was way worse. Either way my life was in danger, as a matter of fact it was just my way of life. I hold my head tilted and the rescuers think I either suffer a head injury or a neck injury from a chain. I wish I could tell you what happened and that it really doesn't bother me but of course you guys don't speak dog. ... (Read More)Now I am thankful for that awful shelter. My life has been great since. I have been living in a home and I love it. Finally nice humans that show me love and affection and I needed this so much. I didn't know how great having a family can be. The cuddles, the kisses, the treats, its all so wonderful. I want this, I want my own family. I am good with other dogs and children of all sizes, I prefer no cats, I am house broken and I do not require a create, I am up to date on all of my vaccinations, spay and I have a micro chip. I did see the vet about my head tilt and he said that I am perfectly healthy and it isn't bothering me so let me be. My new friends told me not to worry that I am adorable because of it. If you think I am adorable then please bring me home I need you. (Less)

Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Puppy

Hey guys my name is Barley. I am a 1 year old Golden mix. I weigh about 45 pounds and I am full grown. I have been a stray pretty much all my life living on the streets. Some days were good, some days were bad. The bad days were when I could not find food or water. I did have 1 really bad day and that is the day I was caught by the pound. I know what happens at the pound and I was so scared. I am not afraid to admit I was so terrified I cried. Real tears! I did finally have the best day ever though because I was saved! I have been in a foster home and I am learning so much. I have learned to be house broken and even though I would rather not ... (Read More)be in a crate I understand I need to so you can do things with out watching me so I am ok with it. I do not like cats, they are hard to catch. I like some dogs but not all of them. Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

Boscoe is a very fine fellow that has had a rough time. He was found as a stray and was in a wonderful foster home, but the foster's home was tragically hit by a tornado and although Boscoe was alright, he took a long time to get over the ordeal emotionally. He is very sweet and loving and attaches himself to his caregiver very strongly. He needs a patient loving person that can give him the time and love that his so richly deserves.
