JACKSON BORN AUGUST 2012 My name is Jackson. I get along great with dogs as long as they do not start a fight with me. I also get along with cats and actually think they rule the earth so I don't get in their way. I love love love kids and used to them wrestling around with me. I don't really like crates. They give me anxiety if I am in them very long. I would not dare use the bathroom in the house and can hold it very well. I am extremely loveable and will lick you to death if you let me. My favorite thing to do is play fetch with a ball. I will get it and bring back and put in your hand and do it all day long if you like. I will ... (Read More)work for you and don't know when to take a rest and get a drink so you have to be careful and make me take breaks. I love to work for my human so I will follow you and constantly pay attention to what you are doing to see if you need my help. I have a big personality and lots of character but I also will push every limit you have because I am that smart so you will have to make sure you are not afraid to discipline me. I also like car rides and walking on a leash, I pull but I can learn not to. I am currently taking Tri-Heart Plus heart preventative for heartworms, Advantix for fleas and ticks, and I eat Purina One chicken flavor dog food 2 cups in the morning and 2 cups in evening. I can pretty much stomach any dog food. I usually get me ears cleaned with Vinegar and water on a cotton ball. Unfortunately, while on a heartworm preventative (IVY Heart) I still managed to get heartworms. I take antibiotics every 3 months to help keep them from making me sick. I need the heartworm treatment but I have a lot of energy and I need to run and if I don't I will pant. As cute as I am, I am very high maintenance. The only other health issue I get is my ears get yeast infections really easy so you have to keep them clean. I am a very good jumper so I can jump any regular chain length fence or on trampoline or any other tall object. I demand lots of attention as my purpose in life is to love you and make sure that I am there to help you with anything you need me to do. I do not like loud noises like chain saws, guns, or lawnmowers and storms terrify me so I will need extra attention when around anything like that. I love to swim in water but only ponds and lakes. Not fond of that small kiddy pool thing. I might get my feet wet but that is it. I really need a good home that you will give me lots of attention, play with me, and give me a good yard to play in. I will make your life complete. (Less)

Originally bred for hunting, Goldens make wonderful family pets. Golden Retrievers are very sweet, patient, gentle, and excellent with children. Goldens are eager to please and respond very well to obedience training. Goldens make good watchdogs but are far too friendly with everyone, from strangers to other dogs, to be used as guard dogs. Goldens need human companionship. They can get into trouble if neglected. This breed is suitable for homes with yards, and needs plenty of brisk daily exercise.
