Animal ID: HankHank (male)
Are you looking for the perfect senior dog? Hank is about 9 years old. He is potty trained, doesn't chew and loves napping. Hank came to us as a stray. He is a chow/golden mix. His back end was pretty bald from a skin infection. His hair is growing in well and he's healthy and ready to go. He gets along well with other dogs big and small and kids. He loves playing with his human and will mediate the other dogs interaction. Well you give Hank a home for his golden years? Please apply at adoptapitrescue.org under the application tab. Hank is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and heart worm tested. His adoption fee is $175.

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-03-00555Zeus (male)
Chow Chow Golden Retriever mix. Plays too rough with other dogs and therefore alienates them and then they fight. Little dogs usually start it because of jealousy. Jumps on people and cannot break him of this bad habit. Likes treats and takes them gently, loves to have his belly rubbed. Bad at mouthing and sometimes hard to get a leash on. Where he lives with me, he does not get enough exercise and it is probably most of his problem. I am too old (74) to walk him because he is very strong and weighs about 75 pounds. Goes in his crate at night with very little urging or none at all. Does not go potty in his crate and is completely housebroken. Does not like to ride in cars with bad shocks or suspension and salivates a lot; I think prefers Cadillac type suspension. Better in cold weather or very cold A/C. Hard to get in a van, but then again, there's my age factor. I love this dog in spite of all his bad habits and would like to find him a good home with a patient, knowledgeable dog lover's guiding hands. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-12-08-00042Rusty (male)
Meet Rusty, who is looking for his new furever home through SGF. He is a 30lb, 10 year old dwarf golden retriever (per the vets best guess). Rusty enjoys taking walks, receiving pets, and chewing on toy bones. He is an extremely calm and well behaved dog; he just wants to be in the same room with his people at all times. He enjoys taking long naps either in a dog bed or on the floor, but does not like to sleep in the big bed with his people. He is also great with other dogs, cats, and small children. Rusty does have Cushings disease which requires daily medication and a vet trips annually for testing, but don't let that stop you! You really couldn't ask for a better companion! Could you be Rusty's forever family? He will repay you with love! Apply at www.sophiasgracefoundation.org (Less)

Golden Retriever Dogs can make good pets in Ohio if they match your IifestyIe. The Golden Retriever is a gundog that loves the water. Originally bred for hunting, Goldens make wonderful family pets. Golden Retrievers are very sweet, patient, gentle, and excellent with children. Goldens are eager to please and respond very well to obedience training. Goldens make good watchdogs but are far too friendly with everyone, from strangers to other dogs, to be used as guard dogs. Goldens need human companionship. They can get into trouble if neglected. This breed is suitable for homes with yards, and needs plenty of brisk daily exercise.
