One week left to find a home! Look at this adorable 7 month old pup! His owner is moving and Russell will be brought to the shelter unless we can find a home for him. The darling dog is fully vetted, great with dogs, kids, even cats. He is your typical Golden personality: playful, loves fetch and belly rubs, enjoys a good romp then a snuggle. Loves everyone. He is also housetrained.. Russell is in Charlotte. You can meet him or we will transport to a good adopter. Brighten up your life and save his! Please fill out this form. We do not keep good adopters waiting and Russell is running out of time https://www.crisisdogsnc.org/adopt

Hey there, my name is Jake. I'm a seven-year- old Lab/ Golden Retriever mix. There's probably some other stuff mixed in there, too, but that's anyone's guess! I know that I'm an older dog, but hey, don't let that turn you away. I promise that I'm just as friendly as any puppy, and twice as sweet. I love people, and am very gentle. I like going on walks, but get a bit nervous around people I don't know. Once I get to know you though, there's nothing I'd like better than to plop right down in your lap! Adopt an older gentleman like me... let's create some memories.

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs. Chester's Story... Hi my name is Chester. I am a Golden Retriever, Yellow Lab mix. I am just over 2 years old. You would think I would be hyper, wouldn't you? Well, I'm not! I am excited just to lay on the couch with you, maybe Netflix and Chill? (And by Chill, I mean sleep). I think I could do that all day long! When I do walk, I get a little frisky. I am slightly leash aggressive, mostly I am just protecting my foster parents. When we get in an elevator, I will walk in circles. I do not like standing still when we are supposed to be walking! I go to the dog park and get along with the other dogs, but I don't really play all that much, I am always trying to find a way to get back home and on the couch! I am very interested in squirrels, but I haven't caught one yet! (foster edit: If you have a fenced yard, ensure that the seams are secure. I don't think he would dig under, but could fit through a big enough opening in the fence) I have recently been returned by a previous adopter who tried to put me in a crate WITH a Chihuahua! Boy was that a mistake! We didn't like each other to begin with and then she put us together in such a small space...things happened that I don't like to talk about. I do better in a crate when left alone, although I don't like it. I would rather go WITH you. I love to ride in cars. Don't really enjoy the destination, but I LOVE the journey! If you leave me alone and out of the crate, I sound like Chewbacca from Star Wars and boy does that sound carry! If I'm in my crate, I don't make a sound. I like to sleep on the couch and the bed, with either my paws or back touching you. I sleep through the night even if I've had a nap on the couch. I am a light eater and drinker, preferring small kibble or wet food. I don't like chewing on the big kibble. I am protective of my mouth, my foster dad and I get mad at each other when he tries to look in my mouth. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and up to date on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. My adoption fee is $225. If you have any questions about me please e-mail my foster dad at email@example.com and he would be happy to answer them for you! I cannot wait to find my forever home! Could it be with you? Oscar is my name and I am 4 months old. I am an adorable mutt and will be a medium sized dog (20-30 pounds) when grown. My foster family believes I am a mix of a Golden and Shepherd. House training is in progress. Fenced in yard would be wonderful.

Golden Retriever Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Golden Retriever is a gundog that loves the water. Originally bred for hunting, Goldens make wonderful family pets. Golden Retrievers are very sweet, patient, gentle, and excellent with children. Goldens are eager to please and respond very well to obedience training. Goldens make good watchdogs but are far too friendly with everyone, from strangers to other dogs, to be used as guard dogs. Goldens need human companionship. They can get into trouble if neglected. This breed is suitable for homes with yards, and needs plenty of brisk daily exercise.
