She's sweet, a bit shy, and looking for a family to spoil her forever. Heidi, a 4 month old, 17 lb Golden Retriever/Beagle mix is not a wild and crazy party girl. Her first few months definitely weren't easy because she's initially scared in new situations and on the quiet side. However, with a little love, she opens up and is happy to love and be loved. Her Long Island foster family says Heidi is a gentle pup who is very good with kids of all ages, and she definitely needs another friendly dog in her new home to help show her the way to become a confident adult.     Dean and Dixie are our last 2 pups from the D pup litter. They are now about 11 months old and STILL waiting for that perfect forever home! Currently in PA, they are both awesome pups who will love some furry or human siblings to play with. Dixie is active, she loves to play with anything that squeaks especially rubber balls and absolutely LOVES to give kisses. She is good with other dogs and runs the show with her brother Dean. She hasn't met any cats yet, and would be best with in a home without little kids ans she might unintentionally knock over a little one in her playfulness. Dean can be a little quiet or shy, but he is super sweet and ... (Read More)LOVES to play. He is great with kids and other dogs, but has not met any kitties yet.     Golden Retriever Dogs can make good pets in New York if they match your IifestyIe. The Golden Retriever is a gundog that loves the water. Originally bred for hunting, Goldens make wonderful family pets. Golden Retrievers are very sweet, patient, gentle, and excellent with children. Goldens are eager to please and respond very well to obedience training. Goldens make good watchdogs but are far too friendly with everyone, from strangers to other dogs, to be used as guard dogs. Goldens need human companionship. They can get into trouble if neglected. This breed is suitable for homes with yards, and needs plenty of brisk daily exercise.
