Meet Shebah! Here she is at doggie daycare in play mode! She is an adorable girl at a great medium size. Shebah is very playful and fun once you get to know her. She is a little shy with strangers initially but quickly warms up and will be your best friend. She would do very well with another dog in the home and we think she will make a wonderful family dog. Please note our rescues are saved from high kill shelters in TX and will be transported to NJ for adoption

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-22-00698Chance (male)
If anyone deserves a second chance, it's Chance. This handsome guy with the gorgeous caramel-and cream colored coat and warm brown eyes was a staff favorite in the high-kill shelter from whence he came. Staff members saved him from being euthanized at the last moment and sent him East in hopes that he could find a loving home. Chance is a little timid around newcomers but once he gets to know you he'll warm your heart with his love. He's a bouncy, smiley 2-year-old boy who's still in that goofy, 'My feet are too big!' stage. Chance wants and needs someone to love him so much! Here's what his foster mom says about him: 'Chance is very sweet and affectionate and there's not an aggressive bone in his body. Chance likes squeekies, gentle on his feet, walks very well on leash, travels very well in the car, likes to put head in paw in lap, takes treats gently, loves to play fetch. Puppyish in spirit. Plays beautifully with my dog- Good around children. Chance is already neutered and chipped and he is up-to-date on his vaccinations so he is all set to go! Chance is available through Almost Home Dog Rescue in Doylestown, PA. Contact Jay Tee at 215-862-1135 or 267-980-7535 or at the email address given. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-11-17-00566Chance (male)
This handsome dog with the big smile and gorgeous caramel-and-cream colored coat is a little on the shy side, but once this happy, friendly tail-wagger gets to know you, he'll be your new best friend. This bouncy 2-year old boy is still in that goofy, 'My feet are too big!' stage, and he'd love a home with other dogs and some dog-loving kids to play with. But goofy as this golden eyed boy is, he's sweet soul who is ever soft on his feet and loves to rest his head and front paws on your lap on the sofa. Great in the car, too. Chance takes treats from your hand softly and walks well on a leash. He doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body, doesn't growl at all when another dog goes after his food or toys-in fact he just plain doesn't growl at all. Chance loves a game of fetch, and he loves his squeaky toys. At 40 pounds, Chance is on the medium small side, and cuter as can be. Chance's number came up at his high-kill shelter in NC but a staff member rescued him. He was shipped northeast to Almost Home Dog Rescue where he is now in foster care and playing beautifully with his foster sister. What a sweetie! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-16-00625Rudy (male)
This gorgeous dog is Rudolph - or Rudy as we call him here at our shelter. Rudy is is a friendly dog yet he is currently quite a bit shy and will need a bit of time to adjust to anyone ready to adopt him. He is reserved when meeting new people at first but really warms up and loves to be cuddled once he gets to know you. We hope someone with patience and lots of love to give will come by soon and meet Rudy. He loves other dogs and has quite a few (girlfriends) here at our shelter that he gets to play with on a daily basis. The presence of another dog seems to help Rudy adjust and feel secure so he may make a great friend for your current dog (with the proper introductions, of course). He will do best in a calmer home environment and with older teenagers/adults only as he needs TLC with an owner who will have patience with him. If you believe this could be you, please stop in and meet Rudy and give him the chance for a happy and wonderful life with you. Once that bond occurs between you and Rudy, you'll never find another so strong. Thank you. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Golden Retriever in New Jersey
Golden Retriever Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. The Golden Retriever is a gundog that loves the water. Originally bred for hunting, Goldens make wonderful family pets. Golden Retrievers are very sweet, patient, gentle, and excellent with children. Goldens are eager to please and respond very well to obedience training. Goldens make good watchdogs but are far too friendly with everyone, from strangers to other dogs, to be used as guard dogs. Goldens need human companionship. They can get into trouble if neglected. This breed is suitable for homes with yards, and needs plenty of brisk daily exercise.
