Rescue Me ID: 15-05-27-00835Lola (female)
I am posting this for my friend that took this beautiful 1 year old Golden/Shepherd from a woman that was going to take her to the pound. He can not keep her because he is not home to care for her but he didn't want her going to the dog pound. As far as what the woman told him she has her shots but couldn't provide him with records and she said she hasn't had her rabies shot. She's a Golden Shepherd mix. Lola smiles, sits, stays, likes playing fetch, she is house broken. She stays in and can stay out. I've personally went to spend time with her and she is one awesome loveable girl. Definitely loves to play with balls and she is going to be a great addition to any family. my 5yr old played with her and she is safe with kids. Not sure how she is with other dogs or cats. But she is definitely trainable and a super smart girl. There is a $50 Rehoming fee. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-05-10-00506Sophie (female)
SOPHIE is an absolute lover of a girl, 3 yrs old and dumped in the shelter by her owner because they were moving. Sophie seemed confused and very anxious when she arrived however is doing much better, soaking up all the attention from the volunteers. She is dog selective and would do best as a spoiled only dog. Call Karen to meet her 480.229.9530 or email email@example.com

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-16-00398Capone (male)
This handsome young boy is now called Capone. He is a 10 month old Chow mix. Capone is a very friendly dog, who loves to play and run around and investigate things. Capone was in a home with a Chihuahua so should be fine with small dogs and seems to be fine with females or males, but it would be best to do a meet and greet. Capone should be fine with kids to but does like to jump up and could knock a small child down while playing. Can't say how he will be with a cat. He may be housetrained but can't say for sure on that either and he does walk ok on leash but could still use some work on leash. If you would like to adopt Capone please contact the Benson Shelter at 520-586-3600. His adoption fee will be $80 to cover his neuter and vaccinations. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-16-00396Rusty (male)
Rusty is a very handsome boy and looks to be maybe a Golden Retriever/Chow mix. He and Capone look a lot alike. Rusty is about 2 years old. He walks on leash but I don't know if he's house trained since he was a stray. Rusty is a pretty friendly boy and likes to have his share of attention. The one bad habit Rusty has is barking, but it's more of a barking to get attention than barking just to bark. I'm not sure how he will be with children since we haven't been able to observe him with kids. Older children might be best. We aren't sure how he is with other dogs, seems ok with females but not sure about males and we can't say about cats either. Rusty will make a great companion dog. If you are interested in adopting Rusty please contact the Benson Shelter at 520-586-3600. His adoption fee will be $80 to cover his neuter and vaccinations. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-10-00095Lightning (female)
MEET LIGHTNING (aka stormy)! This beautiful gal is about a 2-3 year old leonberger/golden retriever mix :) she has been good with other dogs (big & small). She is currently being fostered by a dog trainer to build confidence & learn to be more independent and just to be a dog :) She has a ton of potential & has been doing great! She will need someone willing to continue to give her structure & exercise that she so craves. She's VERY affectionate & grows attached easily to her person. She was about 90 lbs when we first got her but she's already down to about 80 lbs. We believe she needs to lose about 10 more lbs so we're working on that with her. She's an amazing & special lady that is ready for her FUREVER :) Please let us know if interested in this DOLL :) Our events are Saturdays & Sundays at Petsmart! Scottsdale Rd & Frank Lloyd Wright 16257 N. Scottsdale Rd in the Scottsdale Promenade :) Reach out to us to find out what day/times I'll be there! Or set it up to meet me before the weekend! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-19-00354Dolly Mae (female)
Beautiful, sweet dog looking for a new forever home. Dolly Mae is very loving and affectionate. She has a decent amount of energy, so she'll do best with kids and/or other dogs to play with. Currently, she lives in a small home with a very small yard. She needs a yard to play in or daily trips to the dog park. Dolly Mae is well-behaved, fully housebroken, and is relatively non-vocal (doesn't bark often). She thinks cats are toys, so she definitely needs a cat-free home. Dolly is a faithful companion and will make a great addition to your family.

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-14-00324Kudo (male)
This sweet Chow Retriever Mix is need of a new furever home. His story is a sad one. His owner is devastated at having to give him up but is concerned about his welfare around her young children, especially with one more on the way. Kudo is 'the sweetest dog you'll ever meet' according to his owner. He is house broken and in excellent health despite his advanced years. Some hip displasia (which he's had since he was a pup) may slow his walking down a bit, but it doesn't hinder him in any other way. He is accustomed to staying for long periods of time alone in his house but has had his best buddy, Sydney as a constant companion for many years. Won't you consider adopting both Kudo and Sydney (see separate listing) together? This is not mandatory, but would be so special for both these senior dogs. Kudo would appreciate if his new owner were home more often than not and promises to be a loyal and loving companion. A home without toddlers would be ideal. The adoption fee is waived but a home inspection and vet reference is required. (Less)

Golden Retriever Dogs can make good pets in Arizona if they match your IifestyIe. The Golden Retriever is a gundog that loves the water. Originally bred for hunting, Goldens make wonderful family pets. Golden Retrievers are very sweet, patient, gentle, and excellent with children. Goldens are eager to please and respond very well to obedience training. Goldens make good watchdogs but are far too friendly with everyone, from strangers to other dogs, to be used as guard dogs. Goldens need human companionship. They can get into trouble if neglected. This breed is suitable for homes with yards, and needs plenty of brisk daily exercise.
